What to expect at your first session
Everything people usually wonder about, answered before you ask.
A session lasts 2 hours and covers very little distance. You will walk slowly, sit, breathe, and be guided through simple sensory invitations, ending with an optional closing circle. Wear comfortable clothes, bring water, and expect to feel unhurried, not tired.
Before
- You receive the meeting point, parking notes and a short health check-in by email.
- Eat lightly. Silence your phone, or leave it in the car.
- Let me know about any injuries, mobility needs, or allergies (bees, ticks, pollen).
What to wear and bring
- Layers and closed shoes you can walk slowly in. Long pants help with ticks.
- Water, and a light snack if you wish.
- A small mat or folding stool if you like. I can bring a few.
- Insect repellent in warm months.
During
You are always free to sit out, wander less, or stop. Nothing is mandatory. We move at the pace of the slowest person, and the route stays on gentle, established ground.
Accessibility
Tell me what you need. Routes can be shortened, made flatter, or based around benches and seated practice. Private sessions can be fully tailored.
Weather
The forest is good in light rain, cold and heat with the right layers. For lightning, high wind, ice or dangerous heat, we reschedule or refund.
Cancellations
You pay after your session is confirmed. Cancel at least 48 hours ahead for a full refund. Within 48 hours, we reschedule if we can.
Safety and boundaries
Sessions are held on public trails with a first-aid kit and a plan. This is a wellness practice, not medical care. If you have a medical condition, check with your doctor. If you are in crisis, call or text 988.
More questions
Will I be asked to hug a tree?
No. You might be invited to place a hand on bark if you want. Everything is optional.
Are children welcome?
Ask me. Older teens may join with an adult. Private sessions can suit families.
Can I take photos?
You can take a few at the start or end. The session itself is phone-free so everyone can settle.
